A man who has quit playing Fantasy Premier League half way through the season for each of the last 8 seasons has claimed he is in it for the long-haul this time around.

Football fanatic, Kevin Johnson, has rage-quit the famous fantasy football game midway through in every season to date due to his absolutely terrible performance, his friend told the Daily FFB.

“Kevin bigs himself up every August, telling stories about how ‘this is his year’, and how he’s ‘done his research this time around’, and then every year he furiously quits around December/January time claiming that the entirety of the Premier League player pool has it in for him.”

Mr Johnson was somewhat defiant, however, telling our reporter that things will be different in his 2017/2018 campaign.

“Yeah, it’s gonna be a lot different this time around. I’ve done my research – watched a few pre-season games, bookmarked OPTA in Chrome, that kinda thing.”

“I’ve got a good feeling about things to come – I just feel like it could be my year.”

In honour of his annual optimism, his friends have also upped the cost of their private league wager from just £10 up to £50 in the hopes of rinsing him of slightly more cash.

“His ego won’t let him say no”, one friend added. “Beers on Kevin come May”.
